So I tried!

So I tried to make a button...it is not great but it is a start.  Will someone please let me know how to get the box for the code?  What else do I need to do?  I am still a bit confused about the whole thing:)

  1. Hi there! I had tried and tried this and failed miserably. Then Amanda from One Extra Degree helped me out and sent me the following, which was easy to follow and do. Hope it helps!!

Take a screenshot of what you would like for your button and then shrink the size of your button in Photobucket...or something similar. I use Photobucket, so that's what I'll be referring to. Upload your button then EDIT. You'll want to resize to the width of your sidebar. I just looked at your coding and it looks like the width of your sidebar is 235 pixels. SO...when you resize, you'll want to make sure it's NO larger than 235 pixels. Click "save a copy". It will generate an image code. You'll want to click and copy the "direct link" and then you'll paste that into the coding for your button.

Now..to get the coding for your button...click on this link:

This will tell you EXACTLY where that "direct link' coding needs to be placed.

You'll upload this to your sidebar...click add a gadget...and then HTML

Place the button coding in the popup window and change the information that is required.

  3. Hmmmm...not sure it is working correctly. When I click on your button it brings me to the photobucket page hosting your picture instead of to your blog.
    Good luck!
